Understanding

The days have gone by so quick and all I'm left with is the blur of the city lights we often passed at night on the highway. Here are the significant lessons I've taken away from the trip, the times I've felt the Marianist charism, and my resolutions. As I reflect back in the LA trip, there is a significant lesson that went unrecognized and, thankfully, my bad memory did not discard it. It was the time when we had dinner with Brother Ken, Brother Dave, and Fr. Jim. Fr. Jim arrived late but was lucky enough to hear our reflections. FEATURES OF LIFE INSURANCE

Image
1. General contract Life insurance contract is just like a general contract where offer and acceptance is of typical nature. Submission of proposal along with premium is an offer and dispatch of acceptance letter is the acceptance. Like a general contract, a minor cannot enter into a contract without guardian acceptance. Undue influence, fraud and misrepresentation. 2. Investments Insurer is liable to return premium along with some benefit to the insured person after the expire of time or the death of insured person. Thus premium paid by him regularly is like depositing money in a bank. In case of his premature death the fixed amount is paid to his nominee. 3. Conditional contract Life Insurance is a conditional contract because the insurer shall pay the insured sum only when the contract is contin...

The hike started early, and we headed out to Monrose at 7:30 am and rolled up just as the park was opening.  Unlike Texas, the hike was cool and shaded by the large Oak-like canopy trees.  Precious silence hung over the first half of the group and the second half was buzzing with light chatter.  We made our way up the sloped trail and were greeted by squirrels, various birds, and random sounds nature offered up.  Side note:  There are no squirrels in Hawaii. We made our way to the top and came into an area with a small, b...
